Sarah Marsh was born in British Columbia where she still lives. She has only recently begun her writing career finding it the perfect outlet for taking the edge off a nine to five office job. She’s been a science fiction and romance junkie for years and when her imagination started to take the characters she read about even further in their adventures she decided to try writing something of her own. Sarah’s also a former pastry chef and spends a lot of time cooking and baking for friends and family as well as painting and knitting. Her biggest weakness is animals of any kind and she loves a happy ending.
Q: How long have you been writing?
A: I just started writing seriously last year. I’d written a little bit of poetry in school when I was younger but it wasn’t until I began reading romance/sci-fi novels that my imagination began to take thoughts to the point of creating entire stories.
Q: Where do you get your inspiration to create your characters?
A: Some of my characters are inspired by the things I appreciate best in those I have around me and have met in the past; others are one hundred percent crazy imagination.
Q: Have you always had an interest in this genre?
A: I’ve always been a huge science fiction geek, the romance genre kind of snuck up on me and before I knew it I was hooked. There aren’t any barriers to how far you can take the stories and the characters aside from your own imagination, it’s very liberating.
Q: Who is your favorite author?
A: There are so many amazing authors out there; some of my favorites are Laurell K. Hamilton, Kresley Cole, Viola Grace, Shelly Laurenston and Gena Showalter. I’m a bit of a glutton when it comes to reading and I never go anywhere without my e-reader.
Q: How do you choose the names for your characters?
A: I actually pull quite a few of them from my “baby names” list that I started while in my twenties. I’m sure that most women out there have a list whether they want to admit it or not, but mine started getting out of control, so at least this way I can give the names that I love to characters I create.
