Definitely one of the better Soldiers of Peatl books. I especially liked that even though Georgia had a horrible experience with her ex, and she was fearful of getting involved again, unlike other books in this series, she was rational. She didn't let her fear overwhelm her of rule her. She was one of the most normal, rational heroines in this series, and it was such a nice change of pace. No irrational running away, no constant hand wringing about various fears, no damsel in distress. She was definitely afraid, but she handled it maturely IMO. It was nice amd different and I hope the author writes more heroines like her just to mix it up a little.

This book was disappointing - I thought there would be more depth between the characters & in the storyline but nope, it was all too weak.

Just OK for me. I liked the heroes and heroine but the story was a little lacking. For the first 2/3 of the book, Maggie and her men were stuck at 1st base in their relationship b/c off her fears. Suddenly, in the last 1/3 of the story, the characters are hitting home runs and I never even saw them round the bases! And then, they are all professing their love after it seemed like they'd barely spent time together. It just didn't ring true to me. Finally, I really like this author, but a lot of these stories are the same--particularly the Pearl and Dare series. 1) Woman who's been abused, threatened, or is fleeing. 2) Overprotective, alpha men 3) Woman is constantly fearful of big men, sex, relationships etc. 4) Sadistic villain captures woman, almost kills her. 5) Heroic rescue. 6) Epilogue-ish HEA where woman has to initial sex after her recovery. Every book in this series follows this exactly. Now when the emotion is there and it's deep and compelling, I can totally overlook the formulaic nature of the book. But when the emotional depth and/or story isn't there for me, it's much harder. With this book, I wasn't totally convicted by the story.

When Millie's violent ex-boyfriend gets out of prison early, thanks to his seduction of his therapist and her current boyfriend dumps because he is a first class jerk she does the only thing she can do. She runs to Pearl and her friends, Anna and Stacy, but trouble isn't far behind and never minding the five Lewis brothers who are determined to make her theirs. There are a lot of things that I like about Dixie Lynn Dwyer's books and two of those are the strong females characters that even though they may be feeling week at the moment, they manage to keep fighting back. The second thing I like is that she can seriously create one hell of a bad guy, the sadistic nature of Frank was off the chart, and you could almost feel the evil coming out of the book when his scenes came up. My favorite chapter was Chapter 8 which takes place in the dojo when Millie surprises the heck out of Dalton, Hank and Marco. Hahahaha that will teach Dalton to judge a book by its cover. My favorite quote (yes, I actually have one this time, but it true fits what this whole series is about I think): “It’s crazy, isn’t it? To come to this spectacular town and run from your troubles, the fear, the worry, and start over? To think that you’re alone in that fear, to find the fight within you and then get unexpectedly hit out of thin air by love, attraction, lust, if you want to call it that? To think that you could never have a relationship, never mind one with multiple men, and suddenly you’re considering it?”--Lena in Chapter 13. I do wish that she had put more of the Lewis brother's background into the books. I have notice that in this series there isn't a lot of information the male characters, which would add depth to them and help us know them better. However, we do get to know and connect with the female characters. Other than that this is a great story that will make you laugh, cry and want to show your aggressive tendencies. I liked the story line alot Deidre has such a strong character and it had some very scary and intense moments. My only downfall with it is I found the so many obvious grammatical errors - doesn't anyone edit or proof read these books before they get released.

I was so looking forward to reading Cynthia's book. She was so sweet yet so sad. This story delves deeper into what happened with her brother Michael and the aftermath of it all. She has so much on her shoulders and doesn't want to burden anyone. Then she finally meets her saviors and they are a perfect fit for her. Another great hit by Dixie. Look forward to the next story.

So far, I've liked this book the best in this series. Cynthia was self sufficient and independent, without being stubborn just for plot purposes. Yes, she kept secrets that she didn't have to, but her motives made sense to me. I felt her pain over her brother's death and the way he chose to live his life near the end. As for the heroes, the they were appropriately patient and alpha as this author's men always are. I did think the "guardian" notion was a bit much and overbearing as a concept but whatever. Another typically solid read from DLD.

Dixie has done it again. I love the "Soldiers of Pearl" series. I have a nephew with PTSD and by reading the books by Dixie like the "American Soldier Collection" and "The Soldiers Of Pearl" I have a better understanding about what they are going through. So thank you Dixie for all the research you do when you write these wonderful books. Thank you to the Men and Women of our Armed Forces and I'm sorry you have to go through this.

This was a great original book! I was really scared of the bad guys, they put mean on a different level. But of course the good guys were so very loving and badass I couldn't put the book down. Great read, even if I did finish in the middle of the night :)

There was nothing really wrong with this book. For some reason, I just didn't connect with the story. Not sure why. I liked the heroes but couldn't connect with Arabella much. She was definitely brave and self sacrificing, which was good, and I felt bad for her situation. So I don't know what it was, but I found myself skimming just so I could be done and move on to the next book in the series. It took me months to read this book as I kept putting it down to read something else. I love this author but for some intangible reason, this story didn't grab me.

Seeing the guys bring put her more frisky side was fantastic. A few surprises throughout the story as well. All in all another great read!

Dixie books are so good once you start one you can't put it down until you finish it! I loved the part when they were swimming, finally going after what they wanted taking a chance with her. They also find out Dee can't swim and they each try to show her how! How they wanted to look out for her and make sure she could swim and not drown. Even if it gave them opportunities to touch and kiss her a lot in the process!!! Best way to learn to swim to me! Near the end of the book I was on edge I didn't know what was going to happen to her! But I'm glad it all turned out well! .I love all her books, she's one of my all time favorite authors! I could read all her books over and over again!

Okay, I'll admit; the first part of the book at the very beginning worried me a bit until I realized that these weren't the men she was going to end up with. After that, I could relax and let Dixie take me to another world with her writing. The men are smoking hot and there are lots of intense moments but of course, they all win their woman in the end. I absolutely love this series and it just gets better and better. Thanks for the beautiful stories Dixie!!!

Very good book. So much better than Book 10 (I have no clue what happened with that one). This is the kind of DLD book I have come to expect--full of emotion and heart. Loved all the men, especially Jaxon who was their leader and Gabe whose struggle and fear was so realistic. I really appreciated that Gabe physically struggled and didn't have a quick fix. Alana was strong and more than capable of taking care of herself which was great. Overall, I really liked this installment of the series.
