Nate Reed has fallen in love, or so he thinks. Unfortunately, the girl he’s in love with is in love with someone else. That someone else is someone that Nate considers a best friend. Will their friendship survive his betrayal?
Jasmine climbed off Robby and fell next to him on the mattress, exhausted and sweaty, her black hair matted to her forehead.
Robby puffed, trying to get his own breath back. “Jas, where do you get all this energy from?”
Jasmine cracked a grin as she pulled the sheets up. “Sorry. Guess I just have a naturally high sex drive.”
“Have you spoken with Nate about that?”
Jasmine’s happy expression clouded over. “Do we have to talk about that?”
“Yes, we do,” he said. “I consider Nate to be one of my best friends, and I happen to know he’s got a thing for you going.”
Jasmine sighed. “Yes, I know. Unfortunately, I don’t have a thing for him.”
“I know. Which is a good thing for us. Normally it wouldn’t be a big deal, except he and I have a gentlemen’s agreement between us that I wouldn’t mess around with you until he’d had a chance.”
“Great,” Jasmine groused. “Just wonderful.” She pulled the sheets up, lay on her back and stared at the ceiling.
“Jas,” Robby said. “Talk to me.”
“Come on, you know Nate and I are also friends. Or were. We probably won’t be when he hears you and I are together.”
“We’re going to have to talk to him together. That’s the only way to let him down easy.”
“I just got an idea,” Jasmine said softly. “I’ll go out on a date with him. That will satisfy him. Then we can tell him we’re going out with a clear conscience.”
“Good idea. You’re a genius.”
She cracked a weary grin. “Just remember, I’m going to have to make it look good. Otherwise, he’ll get suspicious.”
“Yep. I know.”
“Don’t worry.” Jasmine rolled over on her side to pat his chest in a reassuring manner. “I know just how to push his buttons.”
“Be careful with that,” Robby warned. “Guys hate to be manipulated or discover they have been. And don’t forget, Nate has resources we’re going to need if you want to get married in the way you have been dreaming of.”
“I promise I’ll be careful,” Jasmine said, rolling her eyes. “God forbid I should wound his delicate ego.”
“Yeah, well, if you should feel so inclined, you might want to follow my advice.”
“Oh, you mean to show him how incompatible I am with him?”
“Yes, that. I’m sure a solution will present itself. Hey, isn’t his flight due the day after tomorrow?”
“Yes, it is. Are you still suggesting both of us should meet him?”
“Yes, I am,” Robby said. “We can implant the idea in his head of the two of us together.”
“Believe me, that won’t be hard. Unlike you, might I add.”
Robby cracked a randy grin. “He’s all yours.”
She rolled over further until she was on top of him again.
Robby’s eyes glazed over as Jasmine went to town on his rapidly hardening cock, remembering how they had met at the beach, just a few weeks ago.
