Ren Ito, a young man torn between two worlds, finds himself lost and alone after a devastating betrayal. As he seeks solace in the serenity of nature, a fateful fall leads him into the heart of a frozen wilderness. Desperate and freezing, he encounters the mythical Kuraokami, a snow dragon of ancient legend.
Under the watchful eye of the majestic creature, Ren embarks on a journey of self-discovery, confronting his past and embracing his heritage. As a bond forms between the two, they find comfort and companionship in each other's arms. But their newfound happiness is threatened when Ren's manipulative ex-boyfriend returns, with a sinister agenda that could shatter their fragile connection.
Will Ren choose the familiar path of love and heartache or embrace the extraordinary with Kuraokami? And what secrets does his ex-boyfriend hold that could jeopardize their newfound happiness?
Kura watched as the human male scurried away like an excited rabbit. His hand lingered on the cheek that Ren kissed. His skin burned in longing, and the farther Ren went into the horizon, the harsher the burning felt.
No other creature had left him feeling this way, wanting more. Not wanting their time to end. It took all the self-control Kura had to keep him from whisking the human male away forever. However, he would have to wait to see those brown eyes again. Tomorrow, they would see each other. His stomach turned as if he was doing backflips in the air.
He wondered what a date was. It was not a term dragons used. Well, whatever it was, he would be doing it tomorrow with Ren. Another flip kicked in his stomach. Ren had a hold on him, and he honestly loved it. It somehow ignited a new passion in the dragon that he didn’t know was hidden.
The smaller male was adorably attractive. His dark hair looked black in his den, but under the rays of the sun, chestnut brown shined through. His chocolate, puppy eyes squinted every time he smiled, and all Kura wanted to do was keep the other male grinning. Every time Kura picked up Ren, he noticed how soft yet firm the human male was. And he definitely didn’t forget to eye that bubbly butt as he ran off towards the other humans.
Ren was delectable. The finest snack he had ever seen. I want to sink my fangs into his neck and claim him as mine. The thought shook Kura out of his senses. He had never craved to make a bond with another, especially in such a manner. Even when other dragons offered relationships or sexual relief, there was never the feeling of possessiveness. But Ren was different.
He’d never met another creature like Ren. Listening to him talk was like a warm spring day with the birds out. Staring at him made time itself stop. He was a fragile yet strong living being that Kura wanted to keep forever.
While many of his family and friends took mates before they deserted the Valley of Dragons, Kuraokami had no desire for one. None of the other dragons in the valley sparked any interest over a day or two. He was a dragon not easily swayed, with many saying he had a heart of ice. He was a snow dragon. He was surprised that others expected differently from him.
With Ren no longer in his vision, but still in his thoughts, Kura changed back into his dragon form, zooming straight into the clouds to race back to his den. The clouds masked his form as he flew through the formations in the air.
He missed the feeling of having Ren on his back. He loved the feeling of holding him onto his fur as they zoomed through the sky. He also didn’t miss the hard feeling Kura felt throughout the ride, making sure to hit enough turbulence to bounce him up and down or to tease him with a little rumble here and there.
The dragon had a hunch that the human male may have enjoyed his presence, but Kura wanted to confirm. Luckily, the kiss on the cheek proved it for him. His wide mouth smiled. He couldn’t stop remembering the way Ren’s soft lips felt on his cheek. He would replay that very scene over and over again until they met again the next day.
Before long, the white dragon arrived back at his home and slithered inside. He didn’t bother transforming into a smaller shape, but instead, quickly went to sleep. He was ready to be nearer to seeing Ren for their date.
