Maggie stepped into the galley of the plane and checked the coffeepot. First things first, make sure the coffee was hot and ready for the passengers. Next up, greet everyone. She pulled the curtains closed between first class and coach and turned back to her passengers with a smile. For a second her steps faltered as she caught a look at the man seated in 2A. Her heart raced as she gave him a quick once over. He was tall, dark and handsome. Just the way she liked her men to be.

“Welcome aboard, sir, can I get you something? We’ve got coffee, tea or perhaps an alcoholic beverage.” What she wanted to say was how about you and I get to know each other better.

“Thank you, a coffee would be great right now.” The man smiled.

Maggie turned toward the coffeepot, aware that his gaze followed her every step. Her heart skipped a beat at the thought as Maggie focused on getting the coffee in the cup without spilling it.

“Here you go, nice and hot.”

“Thanks. Been a long day, and this is just what I needed to keep my energy up.”

Her mind filled with ideas for keeping his energy up and none of them had to do with coffee.

Off and on throughout the flight, Maggie made it a point to check on the man. After his third cup of coffee, he turned his attention to the stack of files he pulled from his briefcase.

As the plane taxied onto the runway in Detroit, Maggie made a last pass down the aisle, collecting up the cups and assorted trash from the passengers.

“Thank you,” the man told her, handing over his empty coffee cup, his fingers brushing hers.

“My pleasure,” Maggie answered, hoping her smile told him more than just it’s my job and I had to do it. Her hand still tingled from their brief encounter.

Maggie tugged the tote bag higher on her shoulder and headed down the concourse of the Detroit Metropolitan Airport. After the long week she’d had, her own bed would feel heavenly tonight. She took notice of the holiday decorations that graced the small storefronts, now closed for the night. Christmas was her favorite time of year and this year would be no exception. Her tree had been up for weeks, and next week the family would all gather together to celebrate.

She saw the man staring up at the departure board and recognized him instantly from her flight. Mostly, she remembered his vivid blue eyes, the dark hair touched with silver at the temples, and the sexy smile that made her stomach do flip-flops. And she especially remembered the way he watched her as she moved up and down the aisle giving the flight safety talk, his dreamy blue-eyed gaze following her every movement. At one point, she was positive she felt his hand slide across the back of her leg while she served coffee to the passenger seated next to him.

What she really would have preferred was a quickie fuck in the back of the plane, but the flight had been overbooked and there were no empty seats. Maggie shivered as the thought swept over her. A thought she would have loved to make a reality.

As she drew near, he turned from the board, stroking his chin. “Looks like I’m going nowhere tonight.”
