Hi, my name is Daisy Philips. I've always loved to read and one day I got tired to saying how much I wanted to try to write and just did it. A big thank you to Siren for taking a chance on me.

I also love photography and travel, two hobbies that go well together. One of my proudest moments was when MTV contacted me to use one of my photos in one of their specials. Another was when Ticketmaster in Spain used one of my photos.

Unfortunately, since I work full time, I don't have as much time as I'd like for either writing or photography, so I'm counting the days until I can take early retirement and work full time on my passions.

Q: What's your background?

A: I grew up in a small town in Nova Scotia and have lived in Toronto most of my life. I work full time and write whenever I get a chance.

Q: What are some of your favourite things?

A: US City: Chicago

International City: London

Beverage: Diet Coke

Sun Vacation Spot: a tie between Los Cabos and St. Maarten

Favourite trip ever: 2 weeks as a volunteer elephant helper at Elephant Nature Park in Thailand

Favourite animal: Elephant, of course

Favourite flower: Daisy

Favourite tv show: Big Bang Theory, Arrow, and Amazing Race

Q: When do you write:

A: Sunday for sure. All day. My record for one day is 18,000 words, but it took me a week to recover. I usually shoot for between 5000 and 10000 words in Sundays. I also try to get in 1-2000 Saturday and at least one or two evenings a week.

Q: What else do you like to do?

A: I like to go to movies. I prefer to see them on the big screen and never rent movies to watch at home. I also like to get outside and often go to the Toronto Island in the summer. In the winter, I generally hibernate.
