The sexiest man, and also the nicest man that Leah has ever known is hers for the night. It has been ten years since they have last seen each other, and those years have definitely been a friend to this gorgeous man. Dancing at the club and talking about old times, the two old friends feel as if time has stood still just for them. As she is held close by the man she has watched grow from a boy to a man, Leah hopes that time will stand still for awhile longer, if only for them.
Leah set her stuff down and rounded the corner to the kitchen. “Wow, you’ve already got them moved. I didn’t expect you to have it done so fast.” “I got started early today,” he said. He stood up and turned around. “Oh, my God, Rodney?” “Leah?” Leah shook his hand and looked into those same big brown eyes that she had remembered. “I was expecting your dad.” “Yeah, well, Dad doesn’t do that much work these days. He does a lot of telling us how to work.” Rodney smiled, and there it was, that same smile of his that Leah remembered. That was another one of Rodney’s assets that Leah had found sexy. If a smile could be sexy, then Rodney definitely had a sexy smile. “So, word on the street has it that you’re moving back home.” Rodney worked while he talked. “Yeah, I guess so. I only told one other person, the realtor, and already it’s the word on the street, huh?” “You know this town, Leah. You can’t keep a secret here.” Leah smiled. She knew. “So, what else is the word on the street? Why am I moving back here?” That smile flashed across Rodney’s face again as he stopped what he was doing. “Well, you’re divorced, but that’s not exactly a secret. People are just wondering what you’re going to do here, you know, to support yourself.” “At least they don’t think I’m pregnant and hiding away.” He laughed at her comment.
