Madison lives and writes in the Pacific Northwest. She started writing late in life, creating the type of characters she loves to read about. When not writing she can be found curled up with a good book, gardening, cooking or canoeing.
Q: When did you start writing?
A: I’ve always loved to write but seriously sat down and wrote my first book about six years ago. It was a young adult book. I work with kids and thought that was the direction my writing should take. I finished it and started on book 2 of the series but never submitted either manuscript. My love of reading expanded and I decided to try something different. Writing erotic romance was a challenge at first, but I loved every minute of it. It actually took me longer than I expected to finish the first book. I kept editing, adding and improving the story.
Q: What books and authors have influenced your writing?
A: Lorelei James, her Rough Riders series was my first experience with erotic romance, she hooked me in, and from there I found so many other wonderful authors. I love Heather Rainier, her stories make you feel good. Lauren Dane is amazing and I love to read local story lines. Olivia Cunning, we all have that rock star fantasy. Sophie Oak, she makes you laugh, cry, tingly all over and who wouldn’t want to live in Bliss and hang out with crazy Mel!
Q: What would you want readers to take away from your books?
A: The same thing I always want from a book, a happily ever after. I like to read books that make me feel good and I love series that bring back previous characters.
Q: Name five writers you would most like to meet and why?
A: Bella Juarez, she is amazing! She is also a new author and her book is incredible. Corinne Davies, her imagination and creativity inspire me. Heather Rainier, not only do I love the Divine Creek series, but Heather seems like a genuinely nice person, someone I would love to meet. Sophie Oak, I love how she crosses over her characters in her series. Morgan Ashbury. She told me to never give up and encouraged me to keep writing. I have to add one more, Melody Snow Monroe. She has also been very supportive and the series she writes are great!
Q: What motivated you to start writing?
A: I love to read and wanted to write something that other people might enjoy. Series are my favorites, especially if the characters continue to reappear. I came up with Tessa’s story and actually developed the series around her friends, family and her husbands’ family, mapping out all the books and how the characters would come together before I had the first chapter done.
Q: What did you do when you got the email from Siren, notifying you they wanted to publish your first book?
A: I actually cried. I was so overwhelmed that Siren accepted my book. That email made my dreams come true.
Q: What made you decide to submit to Siren?
A: I’ve read so many authors who write for Siren and have connected with many of them. I respect their opinions and knew that Siren would be my first choice.
Q: What are you currently writing?
A: I am working on Lanni’s story which is book 2 in the Allure, Wyoming Series.
Q: What do you do when you’re not writing?
A: I read, garden and love to cook and spend time on the water.
Q: What are your guilty pleasures?
A: I don’t watch much TV but never miss Vampire Diaries. I’m totally in love with Damian, and pretty much anything with caramel, chocolate, maple or pecans!
