I enjoyed this book more than "Claiming Kristen". I felt that book had a lot of filler to it w/o as much story. Sometimes 90,000 words in a book do not necessarily make it an excellent story.This book had it all; story, plot, hot love scenes and humor, in a shorter, succinct novel. I am sure Ms. Penn will tie up loose ends to the series in future books. Jenny Penn is still one of my favorites.

I really loved the first book in the series; and I enjoy this author's writing a lot. Even in this second book. However, I did not care for the plot line for "Caleb". I am not a big fan of swapping partners, and it appeared that Caleb felt entitled. Even after he knew how Megan felt about it; he still went with the other woman. Furthermore, I love Devin, always have, and he proved to be more loyal and devoted to his wife than Caleb. Perhaps in the next installment, you could have Caleb realize how much he loves Megan after her injury and stay true to her. Or, you could have Caleb and Megan decide their love was more childhood infatuation, and have Caleb go with Cassandra and Randall permanently. To Ms. Cruise, I implore you, please do not have Devin get together with Paris in the next book, or my view of Devin would surely be shattered! I guess I just love a "happily ever after".

I am really liking this series! I admit I like a believable story and this one is about shapeshifting longhorns. But, I still enjoyed the plot and starting to enjoy shapeshifting books more and more! I like this author very much.

This is a well written story and I wanted to give it a higher rating than it has received. The heroine to me appears strong and capable even though she is subjugated in an awful relationship in the beginning. The two heroes, although dominant, still show respect for Elysia. She willingly submits, and yet still remains empowered. Perhaps to some readers she appears to be easily overpowered, but in my opinion she is very much in control of her heart.
