Rosemary J. Anderson was born in Shipston–on–Stour, Warwickshire, England. Being part of a military family, she spent her childhood living in different parts of the country. After settling in Bristol she spent fifteen years as a Legal/Financial Caseworker before moving to the village of Adlington in Lancashire where three years ago she took up writing. Her hobbies include films, reading, cooking and walking her dog, a large, long haired Akita named Sumo. President of the local Women’s Institute, she finds inspiration for her writing from many unlikely sources.
Q: What is your writing day like?
A: I get up at 6 a.m., walk my dog, then, once home, feed the cats and have my breakfast. A quick whizz around the house, dusting and vacuuming and by 9 a.m. I’m ready to write. I get lost in my stories until about 12:30 then it’s time for the dog to go out again. I have a sandwich lunch, then back to writing until 4 p.m. and that’s when I stop unless I’m in the middle of a particularly exciting story line, then I write until it’s complete.
Q: What gave you the inspiration to take up writing?
A: My dear friend Dr. Esme Miskimmin. I went around to her house for New Years Eve in 2009 and, we were laughing at some of the hilarious things people, including ourselves, say and do. We’d just joined the W.I and, thought that the ladies in our Institute would have some exciting stories to tell or some deep, dark secrets that would amaze us. That’s when I announced, quite excitedly, “I’ll write a murder mystery involving the WI,” and that’s where it all started. Then I went on to write erotic romances which I think is my forte.
Q: Where does the inspiration for your characters come from?
A: From the people I meet or see in the street. It might be their mannerisms, the way they look, or something they do or say. But most of my male characters come from pure fantasy.
Q: What about the locations you use?
A: The locations I use are always somewhere I consider exciting, Alaska, The Sahara, The Amazon Rain Forest, the very locations fizz with adventure.
Q: What about the sex scenes, are they pure fantasy or...?
A: Ha ha, yes, well mostly they are pure fantasy, but there is always that old adage about writing what you know!
