She drives by his house on her way to where she is supposed to spend the weekend, hoping to find him at home. Sheena drives by, but then turns around and stops. She knew that she would. Her nerves kick into high gear at the thought of seeing him again, but what if he is not alone? Will he be happy to see her? Torn between right and wrong, Sheena slows her car. She is expected miles from here, but she has to see him. She cannot resist his touch.
This was killing her. Her mind raced frantically in the silence. What was she doing here? What did she hope to gain? She felt suddenly embarrassed, realizing exactly how bad this must look to Luke, as if she was terribly desperate. But wasn't she? Would he tell someone someday, out of spite or jealousy? Word gets around. She knew that all too well.
Just when she had decided that it would be better to just finish her drink and do the responsible thing, spend the weekend where she was supposed to spend it, Luke tilted his head toward the door and whispered, “Let's go to my bedroom.” All thoughts of leaving immediately vanished from Sheena, and she merely nodded and followed him. Apparently, her decision of whether to stay or go had just been made for her.
Once inside the bedroom, Luke turned and disappeared, leaving Sheena once again alone with her thoughts, which immediately returned to the implications of what she was about to do. If she had been asked a few months ago if she would have ever considered doing anything even remotely similar to this, she would have vehemently denied it. Perhaps she was too impulsive. She should have thought this out, but hadn’t she thought enough? She was already in too deep.
