This series is about pleasure; joyful, liberated, sexual pleasure, the pleasure consenting adults take in one another's bodies and minds, pleasure for its own sake, and for the friendship and love it can bring. It is also about those pleasures that go beyond what most people are used to, and beyond what is generally accepted as mainstream, not just sex, but naughty sex, the kind of sex that involves more leather than lace, more kink than kissing, that involves bound wrists and smacked bottoms, perhaps even the occasional jug full of custard.

I make no excuses and offer no apologies for the content, which is not intended to offend or to shock but to inform and delight those who are brave enough to explore their sexualities. It is my belief that each human being is unique and their sexuality no less so and that there is no right or wrong when it comes to erotic pleasures, so long as what you do is safe, sane and consensual. Sexual tastes should be celebrated, never a cause for shame or guilt, unless shame or guilt is what excites you.

If you do feel shocked, or guilty, when you open the pages of this series, please don't recoil automatically, but ask yourself why you react that way. Is it really wrong to indulge your senses, or are those feelings simply the echoes of out-dated and pointless moral values? To me, it's not wrong at all. How can it be, when it brings me so much love, and excitement, and warmth, and sheer bliss? I see naughty sex like adrenaline sport, only better. Anybody who has been abseiling or white water rafting would recognise the buzz exotic sex can bring, and that comes with the thrill of arousal and the elation of endorphin release on top, with ecstasy to cap it all. There really is nothing better.

Many people disagree, but what I must ask is that readers approach the series with an open mind and with tolerance. I enjoy everything I've described in this series, and I intend to continue to do so, because I want to extract every last ounce of spice from life. As for those out-dated and pointless moral values, they serve a purpose too, which is to provide extra spice.

This is intended to be a light-hearted exploration of sexy fun, but there are serious points to be made. What this series is not about is coercion, making people do anything they don't want to, or do anything because they feel they have to. I do not believe in corporal punishment being inflicted on an unwilling recipient under any circumstances, nor do I support any form of enforced inequality. These things are the cultural baggage of less civilised times and should have no part in a fair and tolerant society. Nevertheless, I see no harm in using them as elements in sexual play, so long as there is understanding and consent between those involved.
