Belinda wanders into a forest and becomes lost. What will become of her?
Belinda followed the bird into the nearby forest and saw her land in a small tree. Belinda had been told not to climb trees, as she could easily fall and hurt herself, but this was only a small tree and easy to climb, and the nest was not that far from the ground. By being very careful and holding firmly to a strong branch, she was able to see into the nest.
“Oh, how cute,” Belinda said as she looked into the nest and saw two baby birds with no feathers and their great yellow beaks open as they squawked loudly.
Belinda watched the mother bird feed the chicks for a while, and then climbed down the tree. On reaching the ground, she noticed some lovely wild flowers, so she decided to pick a few. As she wandered along gathering flowers, she was unaware that she was moving deeper and deeper into the forest.
All of a sudden, she stopped and looked around. All she could see was trees and bushes, and no sign of Eleanor or her mother. “Oh dear,” she said. “I must be lost.” She was about to cry.
