In a small tourist town, there is a secret. After years of being used and tormented, a small group rose up to take back their town, and to make sure no one took control from them again.
They’re known as … The Reapers. No one knows who they are, just that they are locals, and their identities will never be revealed.
For years, Daniel Long and Amy Flynn have been dancing around each other. Neither of them crossing that line of friendship into more. When a tourist refuses to take no for an answer, Daniel intervenes.
Amy has always had feelings for Daniel, but she refuses to jump into bed with any kind of random guy. She has seen the fallout from her best friend. She will not follow the same path.
However, she cannot hide nor deny the attraction she has for Daniel. The moment he kisses her, all bets are off. Amy is not going to pretend they are friends anymore.
Daniel has a secret. He doesn’t know if Amy will be able to handle it. No one messes with his town. No one hurts his woman. He is not afraid to do what is necessary. For he is a Reaper.
Be Warned: anal sex
Daniel glanced around the streets as they walked up to Amy’s home, which he knew was her parents’ previous house. He knew she had rented her grandparents’ place, as she’d been too attached to sell it. He understood that. They were part of her family, and she wanted to hold onto them as long as possible.
They walked down the small driveway, which didn’t have a car. Amy was often found walking everywhere, and only ever drove the café’s van when she needed to. Most of her produce was sent to her.
He watched as she slid her key into the lock, and she stepped across the threshold. “You’re not a vampire, are you?” she asked.
Daniel laughed and leaned against the doorframe. “I guess the real question is, do you want me to be?”
She burst out laughing as he stepped over the threshold. “I’m sorry, that was so funny.”
He loved her laugh. It wasn’t fake nor did she hold back. It was a full stomach laugh. “I don’t even know why I find that so funny.”
“Was it because I dressed up as a vampire for Halloween last year?”
Amy stopped laughing and then sighed. “I had completely forgotten about that.”
“Martha told me I was too tan to be a vampire, not that she was complaining.”
“I bet. When the sun is out, and the beach is clear, that’s where you will find Martha. You might have a secret admirer.” She raised her brows a little higher as he took a step toward her.
She licked her lips and he couldn’t help but wonder if they were dry. Her mouth was tempting.
He closed the door, and now they were finally alone together. Daniel had never crossed this boundary, and he knew Amy didn’t get close to anyone.
“Dinner,” she said, but made no move to leave.
He stared at her, then he reached up and cupped her cheek, tilting her head back.
“Daniel?”
“I want to kiss you,” he said.
She didn’t say anything, but he knew Amy. He knew there was a chance of rejection here, but he couldn’t resist, so he moved in slowly, waiting for her to put a brake on it. Amy didn’t move. She didn’t make a sound.
And then, she ran her hands up his body, touching his chest, and circling his neck. That was a sign for him to go, and he slammed his lips down on hers, kissing her hard. Amy moaned, melting against him, and he ran his hands down her ass, gripping the fullness as he pulled her in close. He didn’t want to let her go, and at the first touch of those lips, he knew he was addicted and didn’t want to stop kissing her.
Sliding his tongue across her lips, he heard her sudden intake of breath, and then he plundered into her mouth, deepening the kiss.
Daniel hadn’t come to her home in the hope of having sex. He’d actually intended to eat dinner. Being in her home, with the scent of her surrounding him, he just couldn’t resist, and one kiss was not enough. It would never be enough for him. He had to have more.
More kisses.
More everything.
They started out slow, and that suddenly changed and he spun her around, pressing her up against the wall.
Amy let go of his neck, and at first he thought she was pushing him away, but then she gripped his shirt and began to tug it open. All too soon, she had his shirt off. Not that Daniel put up much of a fight.
Daniel grabbed her shirt and began to tug it up and over her head, tossing it to the side. Then he ran his hands down her waist, going straight toward her jeans.
“Wait, hold on,” Amy said, and she nibbled her lip as she stared at him.
Daniel waited, looking into her eyes.
She gazed back at him, and he expected her to put the brakes on, but then she took his hand, and much to his surprise, she led him upstairs to her bedroom.
The curtains were open, and she let him go to move toward the window and close them.
Then, she spun around to face him, lips pressed together, and she tilted her head to the side just slightly, looking at him.
