"Book fourteen in the 'Luna Werewolves' series continues the story of additional luna werewolves finding Roarke's pack, putting the larger story line aside for the moment. Alexander, a lonely, internally and externally scarred luna alpha is shocked to suddenly find his mate. His mate, a human running from a pack of normal werewolves is just as shocked to find a "monster", as he initially calls Alexander, actually rescuing him from the pack trying to kill him. Bellamy is a writer who wants some peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the city where he lives. So he goes camping, even though he isn’t really the outdoors type. Totally clueless, he ends up camping in a werewolf pack's territory and they decide to chase him. As scared as Bellamy is, he doesn’t lose his will to fight, well, run in his case, since fighting doesn't make much sense. His initial impression of Alexander is that of a monster, but that's only visual. For some reason he finds himself trusting the bigger, badder werewolf, and it probably has to do with the fact that the guy saves him from the others. Bellamy helps (which I think is great, so whimpering "damsel in distress" here), but he wouldn’t have survived on his own. He has no idea why he is so attracted to the man, but then, Alexander is big, strong and very good-looking – including the scars that only make him more interesting. Alexander has been alone for a decade, betrayed by his previous lover in the worst way. His heavy scarring makes him ugly, or so he thinks, and, as a result, his self-confidence and hope to ever find someone to love are nil. When he notices Bellamy needing help, he doesn’t hesitate to go out and rescue him. Alexander is shocked that the human doesn’t seem to fear him, but he refuses to let himself hope for more. There is only one problem: Bellamy turns out to be his mate. And of course, the more they talk and the more trust begins to develop, the more determined Alexander becomes to find a way to save Bellamy from the werewolves who now surround his house. If you like shifter stories where a human and a shifter have to figure out where they will be safe from their common enemies, if you enjoy reading about mates who trust each other to fight in their defense, but have no idea how to deal with the feelings they develop for each other, and if you're looking for a story with a humorous tone of voice and lots of hot action between the sheets, then you will probably like this novella." -- Serena Yates, Rainbow Book Reviews
STORY EXCERPT
The wolf monster—Bellamy really wished he had a different name for it—spun and rolled, grabbing at some of them before throwing them away and biting at others, but it was still being swarmed. It was like watching a hive of insects attacking their prey.
Bellamy had to do something.
He searched around, hoping for a stick or something, but all the sticks that looked big enough to cause any damage were currently attached to the trees, and he wouldn’t be able to break them off.
His head clearly recalled that there were some decent sized rocks beneath the leaves and moss, so that was where he started searching.
It didn’t take a lot of digging around, but considering the circumstances, it felt like forever before he got enough fist sized rocks to work with.
He just hoped that his arm was as good as it had been when he was still in school.
He aimed for one of the wolves that wasn’t on top of his rescuer because he didn’t want to hit him, or her, or whatever it was.
He lined up the shot, put all of his strength into it, and let the rock fly.
Right in the middle of the eyes. The wolf cried out before ducking and rolling away, searching for what had done the damage, and that was all the distraction that Bellamy needed for him to send another rock at it, and this time the wolf did stay down. Either out cold or dead, he didn’t care.
Bellamy had no choice but to send his rocks at the other wolves. Even though they were on top of his rescuer and moving around like crazy, he had to do it.
He lined up another shot and launched another rock at the head of one of the wolves who was busy biting down onto bigger wolf monster’s back. It was enough to make the wolf let go and fall off, but it wasn’t knocked out.
Bellamy sent the last of his rocks at the wolves who were on top of his rescuer, hoping that the shock of being struck with something would be enough to make them fall off as well.
He was right, and enough wolves fell off that the fight was evened out, and the larger wolf monster was moving faster, swiping its claws out in a huge arc that forced the others to retreat, even the ones who tried getting close to Bellamy again.
Some of them didn’t get back up again from where they lay, and the smell of blood was heavy in the air when the wolves who were still capable of doing so finally ran away, whining and yipping for their lives.
Watching them run away, knowing he wasn’t about to be eaten by them, made Bellamy feel incredibly tired and dizzy again. That made no sense. He was fine, but he still found himself falling back on his ass and gasping for breath.
He turned his head, looking at his rescuer as the giant wolf creature checked the other wolves who’d been left behind, of which there were three of them. They must’ve been dead because after a brief snort, he left them alone.
It was weird. Bellamy had watched those men strip down and get on all fours, changing into the wolves like out of a movie or something. They’d chased him from his campsite because of some supposed trespassing or whatever, and now they were dead.
Maybe he would be a little bit more freaked out about that if they were laying there dead in their human forms instead of just looking like dead wolves.
Maybe he was the one who was dead, and all of this was just a bad joke of an afterlife.
The giant white and gray wolf creature walked over to him. Bellamy watched it come forward with a calm exterior, and interior, actually. His heartbeat wasn’t picking up, his body wasn’t shaking, and he felt fine as it came closer.
Even though it was a giant monster that was covered in blood and scarred all over the place.
Then it did what those other werewolves had done and shifted, turning into a man. A well built, naked, tall, muscular man right out of Bellamy’s wet dreams.
Okay, now was not the time for his heartbeat to pick up like this, or for him to be noticing that the man’s cock was hard and standing up.
And big. It was totally big. Maybe that was part of the superpower of being a werewolf. A man transformed into a strong creature of the night, with the added benefit of having a big dick.
Then the guy got down on one knee, leaning his head down to get his face back in Bellamy’s line of sight, which allowed Bellamy to really see how scarred his face was. It was like someone had poured acid along one side of it, though it wasn’t nearly as bad as what Two-Face got in that Chris Nolan movie, but the discolored and rough look was still noticeable. “You’ll get to stare at my cock as much as you want later. Right now I need to know if you’re all right,” he said.
Bellamy opened his mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
Yeah, he was in shock, and he was not all right. The proof of that was the fact that, beneath the jeans he was wearing, his dick was totally reacting to seeing a naked man who, aside from some unsightly scars on his face, was flat-out fucking gorgeous.
Bellamy didn’t even move when the guy reached forward and put his arms around him, and then the ground was no longer beneath him as he was being carried some place. He was probably going to go into this man’s basement where he was going to be locked up and tortured like out of some movie or something, but he couldn’t bring himself to move or care as his head continued to throb.
ADULT EXCERPT
“I’m going to spread you wide and put my cock in your ass. I’m going to fuck you until you can’t see straight.”
“Yeah,” Bellamy moaned, and when he reached up and grabbed a handful of Alexander’s hair, he didn’t mind the pain at all. He kind of liked it. “Less talk then, show me you mean it,” Bellamy said in a voice that was almost a snarl.
That made Alexander’s nostrils flare.
He’d only undressed Bellamy last night because he didn’t think it was a good idea for the man to sleep in his clothes. That, and he’d wanted to check the man over for any other wounds that might have been on him aside from the crack to his skull. There had been nothing sexual about seeing his mate naked when the man was unconscious, but now that he was getting him naked again, his cock and balls throbbed, feeling so much heavier than they had in years as Bellamy tossed aside the red hoodie he’d been wearing, and then clumsily wormed his way out of his jeans.
The man winced a little when Alexander leaned in to kiss him, cupping the back of his head as he did so.
“Sorry,” Alexander said, and he immediately withdrew his hands with an inward curse. Bellamy was not a werewolf, and even though they were mated, that was not enough to make him heal with the speed of one.
He was healing, that was for sure, thanks to their close contact during the night, but for the most part, only time would take care of that wound. “Are you sure you’re up for this?” Alexander asked.
Bellamy’s eyes widened. “You seriously didn’t just ask me that, did you?”
Alexander tilted his head to the side a little. “If I hadn’t seen your driver’s license, I would have thought you were a lot younger than you are considering the way you talk.”
There was a seven year age difference between them, but twenty-seven hardly made Bellamy a teenager.
“I’m as young as I feel,” Bellamy said, and he grabbed Alexander by the back of the neck, likely not realizing how dangerous it could be to do that to an alpha. “And right now I feel like I want your cock inside me.”
This had to be his mate. Alexander would never have let a man he didn’t feel connected to grab him by the throat.
Yes, Bellamy was his mate, and he wasn’t plotting or planning anything with those alphas who were waiting outside. Bellamy was his and no one else’s!
Alexander crashed their lips together and thrust his tongue into Bellamy’s hot mouth, licking him deep as he thrust their naked cocks together.
Bellamy moaned and clutched at Alexander’s neck and shoulder, like he was hanging on for the ride of his life.
God, how long had it been since he’d been with a man? Years. Alexander was barely able to pick up a drunk for a one-night stand after he’d gotten his scars, and eventually he’d stopped trying, but Bellamy kissed him back with all the raw passion of someone who didn’t see his scars at all.
He really was not put off by them, and that made Alexander feel bold as he reached his hand down and curled his fingers around the both of their dicks.
Bellamy moaned as his cock jumped in Alexander’s hand, and warm cum shot onto his fingers as he stroked them both.
Yes, that was exactly what he wanted! He stroked the both of them, using Bellamy’s cum as a lubricant as he humped against the man’s dick. Bellamy’s fingernails were digging into his shoulder as he came, twitching and moaning as Alexander wrung his orgasm out of him.
He wasn’t the type of man who stayed very still when he was coming. Alexander was going to have to remember that.
“H–holy fuck! Alex, holy God!” Bellamy yelled.
Alexander frowned at the name, but he didn’t say anything. His mate could call him whatever he liked so long as he stayed.
Then Bellamy’s entire posture and demeanor changed. “Oh shit! Oh fuck, I’m sorry, I wasn’t trying to do that,” he said, looking incredibly unhappy with himself. “Fuck.”
Alexander leaned up and kissed him, quickly pressing his mouth to Bellamy’s cloud soft lips before pulling back. There was only the lightest scratch of an incoming beard.
“It’s all right,” Alexander said. “You have nothing to worry about.”
“You can still fuck me,” Bellamy said quickly. “I mean, I don’t want to ruin your time, or make you wait or anything, and we can still have fun after the fact.”
Bellamy was grinning, like he really meant what he was saying.
Alexander shook his head. “We won’t have to wait for very long,” he said, and he climbed off of the man’s body and got down on his knees on the side of the bed, pulling Bellamy’s legs with him.
Bellamy was giving off all sorts of confused vibes. “Uh, I appreciate your faith in my abilities here, but I think I might need at least ten or fifteen minutes to get it up again.”
“That’s doubtful,” Alexander said, and he spread Bellamy’s thighs apart, until Bellamy had one foot down flat on the bed, and the other on the floor, spread wide apart with his hands behind him to help keep his balance, and his dick completely exposed.
“Why is that doubtful?” he asked.
Alexander could already hear the man’s heart beating quickly in his chest again, and he could feel the warmth of his blood, and the pulsing sensation, just through touching him. He didn’t think the smaller man would be ready to hear that Alexander believed they were mates. In fact, that might send him running right out the door, regardless of how many alphas were out there waiting for him.
“You’re in bed with a werewolf,” Alexander said. “You’re sharing my stamina.”
